Kickers battle for starting spot by J. Justin Boggs, Columbus Wired (8/14/10) For once, Terrelle Pryor was not the star on the field of Ohio Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Instead the honor went to Ohio State Buckeyes’ kicker Drew Basil for their annual fall Kick Scrimmage. Basil led the Gray squad to a 33-30 victory over the Scarlet team going 11-for-12 on field goal attempts. Justin Boggs, Columbus Wired (8/11/10) Ohio State Buckeyes’ quarterback Ken Guiton and wide receiver Taurian Washington do not get to play on the field turf of Ohio Stadium that often. They’re hoping that a strong spring followed by a solid fall camp will earn the pair significant playing time. No one will knock quarterback Terrelle Pryor out of his job, but the job of backup quarterback is important as indicated in last year’s New Mexico State. In that game, Pryor injured his knee and had to sit out an entire half.
