Toms Catches Fire: Five players tied
for the lead after 3rd round

David Toms shook off yesterday’s double-bogey on 18,
shooting a hole-in-one on the 4th hole, an eagle on #15 and a
slew of birdies to earn a share of the lead at 12-under par in
the 2005 Memorial Tournament along with first and second round
leader Jeff Sluman, Fred Couples, Jonathan Kaye, and journeyman

Still In The Memorial Lead

Jeff Sluman played steady golf carding a 1-under par 71 for
the day in the second round of the Memorial Tournament and
holding onto a one shot ahead of a group including three-time
Memorial champion Tiger Woods and Harrison Frazer who both
carded scores of 4-under par for the day...more

Other News & Notes From Round 2
Only four times has a player in his 40's won this event.
Sluman is 47. The others were; Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman,
Tom Watson and most recently Kenny Perry in 2003.
Tiger Woods has won 21 times after trailing through 36 holes
during his time on the PGA Tour.

Sabbatini wears camouflage for a cause

The talk around the course at Muirfield Village was the
pants that early first round leader Rory Sabbatini was wearing.
The camouflage pants stood out when he was in the fairway but
could not be seen when viewed against a tree…just kidding on the

Work Ethic Surrounds Honorees for 2005 Memorial

Not only does the Memorial Tournament represent the best
golfers of today, but Jack Nicklaus made sure when he began the
golf tournament in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio that the
Captain’s Club would honor two history making golfers each year,
one living and one deceased. In 2005, the Captain’s Club chose a
woman, LPGA legend Betsy Rawls, PGA pioneer Cary Middleoff, and

Nicklaus Reserves Right To Return To Memorial

a host here I may play, I may not play, but I’ll reserve the
right and try to be able to play here.” stated Jack Nicklaus on
the eve of his 29th Memorial Tournament. He may be done with
tournament golf after the 2005 British Open next month, but
tournament host Jack Nicklaus may not be done playing in the
