My First Muirfield Experience - This Side
of the Story
By Giles Kennedy, Contributing Columnist
While walking the course and taking in the ambiance of the PGA’s
greatest golfers, I was pondering how to go about this
installment. This is the first time I went to the greens near
Dublin as a reporter. But, I can simply say that the reason why I
call Central Ohio home is some of the folks I met at Muirfield.
Residents and fans seem very hospitable and friendly...more

Tour For
Adoption aims to help foster kids get adopted.
by Dave Weissman, Columbus
Wired
Each week, Kirk Triplett
as part of his new sponsorship with the Dave Thomas Foundation,
carries a photo of a foster child on his bag. The Tour For
Adoption program features a Foster child in each PGA city that
Triplett plays in. He places a picture of the child on his bag
that is seen by everyone during each weeks tournament, providing a
catalyst for adoption to people that are interested not only in
Sentral, but other foster children as well. “The goal of the
program is to create awareness that in your community there may be
literally hundreds of children like Sentral in foster care that
people need to consider (adoption),” Triplett said...more

Cicadas,
cicadas, cicadas …Seems once you pass the gates of
Muirfield Village, all you can hear is the sound of the
cicadas. They seem to be everywhere and their noise is
plentiful. 1987 was the last time the cicadas were abound at
Muirfield Village. There are thousands of them and the noise
made is their mating call. The sound is like crickets, but
never ending. Let’s hope the golfers can put the noise behind
them this week and focus on the job at hand.

Pro-Am –
For those lucky few, sponsors and other dignitaries, today
marked the Morgan Stanly Invitational Pro-Am. Let by PGA pros
such as Tiger Woods, V.J. Singh, Nick Price and tournament
host Jack Nicklaus, all seemed to have a good time.

Autograph
Hounds. The fans loved the mood of the pros today as many
of them snagged many autographs. Once family, a woman and her
niece, sat safely at number 9 and collected over 25
signatures. They were last seen waiting for Tiger Woods. “He
probably won’t stop and give any,” said the 16 year old.
