 | How to Coordinate
2700 Volunteers With Relative Ease
by Stephanie Morgan, Columbus Wired
Meeting Paula Haines, one would assume that she’s simply
hanging out for an afternoon with a few friends. Her calm
demeanor and quick smile don’t offer the slightest hint that
she’s the 2003 Chairman of the Women’s Division of the
Memorial Tournament Committee charged with the responsibility
of coordinating over 2700 volunteers during Memorial
Tournament Week...more

Prepare Olazabal for Bad Weather At Tournament

The weather at Muirfield was not what one would call
forgiving today. At ten this morning, it appeared that the sun
was breaking through the clouds and the temperature was a
comfortable 67 degrees...more

A Family Affair:
The Gossetts At Muirfield
by Stephanie Morgan, Columbus Wired
Joni Gossett is caddying this week for her brother. Of
course, crowd speculation this week usually puts her as either
David’s wife or girlfriend. Joni, however, takes it all in
stride. “I just laugh. It’s true, lots of people ask if I’m

 | Who
Wasn’t Asked About Annika Today?
by Stephanie Morgan, Columbus Wired Columnist
Well, maybe the more accurate question is who was asked
AND refused to answer questions about Annika Sorenstam? Of the
three players below that were asked about Annika today, decide
who didn’t want to answer any questions: Vijay Singh, Kenny
Perry or Lee Janzen...more

Under The Radar: Perry Pulls into Lead, Not Looking for
Superstar Status
by Stephanie Morgan, Columbus Wired Columnist
Yesterday, it seemed like this tournament would belong to the
under-thirty set. What a difference a day makes. Today, it is
a forty-two-year-old Kenny Perry that shot a 68 today for an
impressive two-round 11-under-par lead. This is not unfamiliar
territory to Perry. However, last week’s win at The Colonial
was overshadowed by Annika Sorenstam’s appearance. Listening
to Perry, that was just fine by him...more

There’s Something in the Milk Shakes: Charles Howell III Leads
First Round
by Stephanie Morgan, Columbus Wired
At twenty-three, Howell is one of the youngest competitors
The Memorial. Named PGA Rookie of the Year in 2001, Howell has
already managed a very successful career path. Just last year,
he surpassed four million in earnings, besting Carlos Franco’s
prior record as the player with the most money won in his
first two seasons on tour...more

Balance After Winning the Masters
by Stephanie Morgan, Columbus Wired
Fresh off of the practice round, Mike Weir is seemingly
unfazed by his Defending Masters Champion status. In coming to
The Memorial, Weir has been concentrating on his putting game.
Today’s practice with Jack Nicklaus was a chance to get an
even better idea of the changes made to this year’s course.
While most may assume that constant practice was high on
Weir’s list after The Masters, what Weir found most important
was taking time off to spend with his family...more

 | Predictions: We predict
one of the following walking away with this year's title.
Obviously, the first choice is Tiger. We also think that
David Duval, Justin Leonard, Jim Furyk or Vijay Singh will be
at the top of the leader board...Stephanie Morgan likes Mike
Weir to win.
