| One of the newest entries into the Arena District is the
recently opened Blue Jackets Bistro Bar. Located inside Nationwide Arena, the Blue Jackets Bistro Bar cater not only to the Arena patrons, but the downtown crowd as well. Headed by General Manager Marc Sable (55 at the Crosswoods) and Executive Chef Kevin Turner, they offer casual bistro dining featuring American regional dishes, along with a French bistro classic cuisine. Executive Chef Kevin Turner brings the latest culinary trends and French-inspired cuisine to Columbus. Turner recently studied in San Francisco under Traci Des Jardin, arguably the top female chefs in the world. The 225-seat dining room on two levels overlooks the Core Comm Ice Haus skating rink. During lunchtime, 11:30 am to 2:30 p.m., patrons are able to see the Blue Jackets team practice while enjoying a lunch consisting of a Portabella mushroom sandwich, French onion soup and a pint of local micro suds. In warmer weather, they offer outside patio seating for 110. Easily accessible from the street and the concourse of Nationwide Arena, they are open for dinner from 5-11 p.m. (bar open until 2:30 a.m.), 7 days a week. Prices range from $6 to $21 for appetizers and entrees. |
